A quick review and then into the breach.
In the previous we looked at Derek Sivers technical independence blog post and learned how to bootstrap our own servers. Lets sit a bit with what Derek has helped us do. We are now self suficient internet natives. While I've been making things behind the scenes on the internet for many years I never ventured out into this net as a truely personal endevor as a system administrator. Cheers to Derek for the little push we all needed.
Now, it's worth another moment to think about if the following should be done. Simplifying any of the steps from Derek's build may be taking away the most important peice, self sufficiency. New users are always so afraid to touch a button that it might blow up in the hands. But rest assured, your new server can handle a few mistyped commands. Derek gives a great sales pitch for just trying it out and our trust is well placed. Any issue is a quick google away from resolution.
In this one we'll add a few minor tweeks to our website workflow and bring ourselves into the digital age.
Until then we're all waiting for this email update.
